I'm glad it's been sorted for you. When you say "they stopped the direct debit", make sure that this doesn't make you ineligible for the £60 dual fuel discount.

I had a ridiculous situation with npower once whereby I changed banks (and therefore cancelled one DD and set up another) - they claimed I wouldn't get the dual fuel discount as I hadn't paid constantly with the same DD! Needless to say, once this had been elevated from monkey to organ-grinder, this was sorted quickly, but just a word of warning.

Hang on a minute, zoologygeek; whilst it's annoying to receive a bill for £106 , did you use the electricity? If so, then clearly you need to pay for it.

If they're offering to let you pay this over ten months then what exactly have npower done wrong?

Sorry only just looked back on this thread.....I dont argue that I owe the money its just I began the direct debit in February of this year. It was my understanding that settlement bills came at the end on the first year, therefore at the same time time that bonus money came out, so the idea was that the bonus money would cover any shortfall in the bill. I was shocked that the settlement bill came in December, right before Xmas, when most people dont have the extra money hanging around. I dont dispute that I owe the money.

Surely by letting you pay it back(interest free) over 10 months that solves your immediate cash flow problem and you still get your bonus; which you can either bank and get interest or pay off some of your debt.

Because you have misunderstood the terms of your agreement it hardly justifies your original rant at NPower as it seems to me they did everything they could to help you.
