Book of the Dead, London Musuem

Book of the Dead, London Musuem.
Well worth a visit to see this exhibition.

I went yesterday with my partner to london to see this. The whole thing took about 3 hours, mind you we were looking with great interest and could have been quicker.

If you go by train print of the voucher from here which makes it £12 for 2 people instead of £24
DaysoutUK

When you buy your train ticket make sure it has the network rail symbol on the ticket. (we got ours on the morning of catching the train so didn't need to buy in advance like it says on the voucher).

The offer is up to 06/03/2011 which is when the exhibit closes. The rest of the museum is free to look at so you can always go and see the Rosetta stone as well!

Don't forget to look at the DaysoutUK site for cheap meal vouchers as well as the food prices can be quite expensive.

Planning on going next week. It's in the British Museum, yes?

Yes it is the British Museum
  • yes it is, the rest of the musuem is showing a large egyptian exhibition which complements the Book of the Dead exhibition.
And of course the Rosetta stone is there as well.

If you have an ipod / iphone / ipad don't forget to download the free app which is quite fun to use as going around the book of the dead exhibition. There is a link to it on the link I mentioned in the first post.

Agree that it's a very good exhibition.
It's worth pointing out that, unlike most of these 2-4-1 offers, you can only make use of this one at very limited days / times (Mondays to Wednesdays between 12pm to 3pm). When we made use of it a couple of months ago, the offer instructions were that you had to book a timeslot in advance by phone, but it looks like you can now just print off a voucher ?

make sure you answer the questions right then to get your book of the dead! :)
we used our ipad as went round the exhibition to answer the questions.

there is another free app which I think is mentioned when you download the app - on the review page that is also free. It gives you more details on the different spells
  • we didn't need to book a time slot. we went on monday morning and just took the printed off voucher and showed the people at the ticket office the train tickets we had which was accepted.
