Local Housing Allowance - Scotland

Hi
I'm looking for some general advice about LHA and my circumstance.
I own a property in a different city to where I live at the moment and it has been on the market to be sold for 2 years. I moved city to live with my partner 2 years ago, my partner and I have since split up and due to circumstances I am in private rental accommodation with my 15 year old daughter.
I can't move back into my own house as I've got a job here and daughter is in final year at school. I'm paying £700 a month for rent and £300 for mortgage, which I know I can't afford for much longer.
Would I be eligible to apply for LHA until my house is sold?
Thanks for taking the time to read.

why not rent out your property?
that way your mortgage will be covered and you would probably have a little extra in your pocket too!
you won't get LHA while you own a property.0
