What would you Cut in your Council?

Taking it as a given that there will be cuts and cuts are being made,
what would you save/protect and what would you cut in your local authority?
If you are going to suggest something to save then please suggest a cut?
And don't worry about balancing the books they need not be of equal monetary value.
I will start with...
Cut Educational Psycologists
Save Classroom Assistants

- The monthly magazine - waste of money, goes straight in the bin.
- Printing documents in 384383023 languages - if you are in the UK, you really should be speaking English, how else do you expect to do practially anything if you don't speak the mother tongue of the country you have chosen as home?
- Pensions to council workers - I have to fund my own pension through my own income. I shouldn't have to fund theirs too. Council tax should be spent on services, not paying other peoples pensions.
- Cap pay and base any kind of bonuses on real improvements to services and the lives of people living in the borough.
- Bureaucracy - too much paperwork, not enough practical commonsense.

Whoever in my council that created this document....We have developed a strategic document framework that details the relationship
between the various strategic documents within the council.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

This if nothing else. Or if it's not going to be cut, they could at least print it on softer paper- The monthly magazine - waste of money, goes straight in the bin.
Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.
