You're quite right, of course. What sort of idiotic government continually spends billions of pounds of public money when it doesn't exist, creating massive deficits (after they inherited surpluses) and cultivating a spendthrift 'live beyond our means' culture?
    .

I know this one... the conservative government:p

I swear to god, they put these things out there...if nobody makes a fuss they crack on with it. If we make our outrage felt they U turn.

It's hard to have any respect at all for our government isn't it? It's like being governed by a naughty toddler.

It had to happen when Martin took up the case especially in view of the relatively minuscule savings. The hawks like Bendix won't be happy :)

Whilst I am delighted with this news, for me it won't be the end of the story, as it is only 1 form of funding. It is ok having these debt advisers, but people will still need other forms of advice (on housing, welfare benefits, health, homelessness, family matters & so much more) which people still won't be able to access if LA's everywhere cut funding to local projects.

One other question though, I have to ask, where do you simply FIND £27million? I mean, had it been misplaced? Lost?

These are the people who keep telling us that they are the ones to restore the economy, yet they've just "found" £27million they didn't know they had!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I'm one of the happiest people I know. I have no worries, because I provide for myself and am the master of my own destiny. I don't rely on the arbitrariness of government for my income or my pensions - it's a great life.

Shame the government capitulated on this. I've lost respect for them, but idealogically they are still closest to my thinking so upwards and onwards.

Then there may be a disconnect between the way you believe you are and the dissatisfied angry way you come across on here, to me.
