Companies House simply tells you if the company still exists. If it's gone, you are chasing a non-entity, but even if it exists, it does not mean it has any assets. (but the accounts may help you ...if you wish to spend even more money getting them)

You can get a copy of the company's accounts going back several years by paying a small fee (about £12 I think). There are several firms on the internet who will be able to arrange this for you. I have used Checksure in the past. They show accounts up until 30th March on the few that I have obtained. A lot could have happened between then and now, but it might be of some help.

They only cost £1 per year (assuming they only file once per year as is the norm) direct from companies house.

Would be cheaper from CH as I can't see any value in going back too many years
