My ongoing HSBC claim

Well have just spoken to my adjudicator at the FOS today and he said that HSBC have written back to him stating that they will not review my case until the JR is complete. These is in defiance of the universal letter that the FOS recently released stating PPI claims not falling under the terms of the JR should actually be actioned.
My case was first upheld my an adjudicator in September of last year so I am now looking at a further 6 months as it is now going to be upscaled to the Ombudsman for final decision.
Frustrating but I gather if the final result by the Ombudsman is to uphold my complaint then it is binding by law. Is that correct? Might work out for the better in the long run, if so.

The ombudsman queue is upto 18 months at the minute so you just have to be patient I'm afraid. Great that ur claim has been upheld though. And yes the ombudsman decision is binding! Cheers0 -
Thanks for that. I guess the interest also keep ticking in the meantime too?0

That was one of the reasons I did not mind my case taking 2.5 yrs because as each day passed the interest was building up on 9 policies.
Sometimes I really wonder what is in it for them to drag a case surely it would be in there interest to settle soon as.0 -
Well I thought I would update this thread rather than start a new one. The FOS have written to me to say that HSBC have been in touch. They are prepared to pay up in full as a gesture of goodwill although they won't admit liability. Apparently this is a standard response and I can look forward to an offer in the next 8-10 weeks. As much as I want them to admit they are in the wrong, recent redundancy means I can't afford to be stubborn. A 90% successful outcome and I think I should see somewhere between 4 and 6 grand come back to me. It could be more as I am unsure what the PPI on a 24k loan would have been plus 8% interest.0
