    Congratulations! Well done!

You know, I know the 100 payments idea is a nice, motivating, neat number, but if you are finding it is taking several months to get a payment together, it will save you on interest if you pay what you can when you can...

Of course, if the last couple of months have just been a blip, ignore what I said!!

  • you are right sepa - I might try £500 hopefully per month. This amount might be more manageable and stop me spending what I have saved up.

The problem is the house is getting old and keeps needing small jobs to be done and although they cost a little bit each time it all mounts up.

  • Qick update - managed 2 payment since sep so paid 5 off this year giving a little over 5% of my mortgage paid.

Not great in a year as will still take nearly 20 years at this rate.

its a slow process but you are going in the right direction, my 100 month plan took a wee detour when hubby was off on the sick ( 7 months in total ) and i am slowly dragging myself back to where i should be but i am getting there ... every month making up some of the lost ground

we will get there it's just gonna take patience and time ... whats helping me is keeping the bigger picture in mind whilst ensuring i am making the smaller steps count... sometimes when i just have £30 or so i think ahh f**k it i'm gonna buy myself something instead of paying off some debt ..... then i think big picture time el every little helps ... and i pay off the debt ... slowly ( very slowly) i will get there

    good luck
  • might start getting a bit quicker as oh as just gone back to work. So last couple of months we have had an extra £600.

To save on child care she leaves at 5.45pm and works till 1am, i dont get in till 5.40pm so she goes as soon as I come home. Then its my turn to look after the twins etc.

Hard work but seemed best option
