Virgin Media - Arghhh

If you email through their website as a complaint it goes to head office and they get back to you within 2 working days in my experience.. Both times I've complained they have called me and offered me what I wanted and a bit extra compensation..
Try that before cancelling.0 -
Must be a regional thing, Virgin Media are the best company in the history of companies.
Flawless customer service, always go the extra mile. If they mess up, you get loads of free stuff.
Great service, picture quality, dont mug you off like Sky and make you pay for HD channels and have backed up all there promises and seem to actually want to make your life easier. VOD is great, three tuners is good for those annoying soap clashes. And repair team are always good.0 -

not great when your phone and email isn't working, though.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I used to have Virgin Media, but i have been with SKY for about 4 years now, and their products are excellent.
I wouldn't go back to VM for £1000 let alone £100
I have to say I believe the complete opposite. When we had Sky installation was a complete farce, the whole process was dragged out for weeks, always had to spend at least 20 minutes on hold when trying to get stuff sorted (and even then the person you got through to was rarely helpful). Plus the engineers that were sent out were clueless.
Virgin was installed within a week of moving into our new flat, not a single problem then or since.0 -

Customer service won't be a regional thing, other than if you get through to a UK call centre they are generally ok, but India is absolutely appalling, they make everything up as they go along and lie all the time.
Twice now the Indian call centre has blamed a broadband issue on either my computer or my router and tried to get me to call a £1 a minute number. On both occasions it was later confirmed to be an area fault that they are working on.
My broadband cut out last night and only came back on this afternoon, 2 agents in India blamed it on an upgrade to 30mb that is happening to my account on Thursday but couldn't explain why they would cut me off 2 days early. UK Customer service told me thats not the case at all, in the end they had to add a note to the account so that when I next got through to technical support they wouldn't blame it on the upgrade, luckily I got through to UK tech support this time and they solved the issue.0 -

As has been stated already, there's always the cooling off period and if you've decided it's not for you? I'd use it.
Good luck

Well it seems that some regions cope with it better. In my case Ive never had to wait overly long for them but others here seem to have.0 -
Comtel > NTL & now Virgin all been fine. Never had a BT phone line either.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

When you get through to the helpline you will think you are in a Phonejacker induced nightmare.
I had broadband problems the other week due to a modem fault. I phoned the helpline late one evening and explained the fault. The operator confirmed the fault was due to the modem and booked an engineer at a time to suit me as I had a choice of pretty much any time slot (even the next day).
I had two reminder phone calls, one a week before, one the day before. The engineer came within the time slot and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem and the broadband has been fine since.
I've had poor experience with VM before but this time I have to say everything was excellent. Pleasantly surprising.0
