Not really!
If the oil level got low, it shouldn't cut out unless the engine is virtually siezed, and then you'd have a few more issues! A petrol tank shouldn't really be left to get VERY low as sediment at the bottom of the tank can be sucked to the engine blocking filters/pipes etc, but a minimum of half a tank is a bit excessive, and air should never be an issue in the fuel tank???:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. The engine did basically seize, we couldn't get it to work, when I said oil was low it was try try and save a bit of face but in truth it was basically bone dry which is why the car wouldn't start. I put the oil in when I found the problem and thankfully after a few coughs and splutters it started up again. The error message has come up 3 times in the last year and every time the coils and plugs have been changed its worked, so I'm just a bit blank on what the actual problem is.0
