Any free software to organise a small football tournament?

Just got fed up on Google trying to fond some software to help my son organise a charity football tournament at school.
He has 36 teams spread over 3 age groups and they are split into leagues of five or 6 teams. Each team plays the others once only and the league winners then play a "final" in each age group.
I could set this up in Excel to plan the matches and track scores and league positions, but there must be some freeware out there somewhere, but can I find it? Nope....
Any help gratefully accepted......!
If I do finish up doing this in Excel, I'll need to find a formula that will identify the winner and loser and goals for/against from the following
Cell A1 Cell A2 Cell A3
Team A Team B 4-2
Bearing in mind the score could be 10-0 or 0-10.....
