Spares can usually be bought from places selling vaccum bags, belts etc. If you have somewhere like this, take the cooker with you and they should be able to find the correct bits for you.

These are great for stews etc. i even bought a mini one for when camping!
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
  • I have copied all the important pages from the instruction book and put them in a Zip file. They will need enlarging to look good on your monitor but are OK printed as they are.
It is available to download from:-
    http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=01HPANBZ773RU026FKIX5C79YP

It will be available here for 7days for anyone to download and I can copy the rest of the pages if they are of use.

Anyone need further help, just shout.

I still use my 25 year old prestige pressure cooker all the time and love it. Just wanted to say be sure to get the right gasket (black rubber ring)- the ones for the stainless steel models don't fit the aluminium ones and vice versa. However all the aluminium ones seem to be the same whether it's a hi-dome or a rise'n time etc etc
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

According to the bumf in my book you should change the gasket and plug every year.........

I have had my pressure cooker for 25 years and love it especially for making stews, stock etc, you can have a stew ready in under an hour and the meat is perfectly cooked........

  • A few of you obviously found the extracts from the booklet useful so if you would like me to copy the rest of the pages, which have timings for other things, recipes etc, please post here and let me know and I will copy and upload them.

Memories, memories. My mum used to use her pressure cooker to boil terry nappies in (using it like a saucepan I think) then wash it out to cook the veg in for Sunday dinner!!

I wouldn't be without mine, it's great for minced beef and veg, soups and casseroles.
  • Brilliant for Gammon joints too.
  • Thankls for me too DJohn I inherited a pressure cooker from my husband's gran and have been trying to get hold of a book for a while - although I am happy enough using my pressure cooker for soups just making it up as I go along! I got a new rubber seal from my local hardware shop was just under a fiver.
Me debt free thanks to MSE :T

I for one would certainally find the other pages of the booklet useful. If you are able, and it doesn't take too much time to do, would you copy the other pages please?

    Thanks
