Details on log book different to all other paperwork

Hi. I purchased a car second hand in a private sale in April last year (same owner from new). The guy sent the log book off which i received a couple of weeks later in my name. I have all the paperwork, mot's (car nearly 5 years old), service book, HPI check, original receipt for the car from new, both keys etc.
When i bought the car i checked all the details matched up, chassis number, reg number etc on all paperwork, which it does. However i've just noticed that on the log book the car is classed as a Honda Civic 1.4 E yet on all the paper work from Honda, including the bill of sale, they state the car is a Honda Civic 1.4i S (All other details the same).
Now i'm guessing its a mistake on the log book as surely Honda know what the car is. The car is insuranced as a 1.4 E. Do you suggest i contact DVLA to correct the mistake or should i go to a Honda garage and ask them to verify what model the car is? And will they do this without charging? I can't go to the one the car was purchased from as it's too far away. Obviously i want this sorted asap so i can change my insurance to the correct model if it turns out that the log book is wrong, or vice versa.
Thanks

When you gave the insurance company the car registration they will have checked it against the Motor Insurers Association database and this will have given the full spec for the car. You can do a basic check here http://ownvehicle.askmid.com/You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0 -
Go to a Honda dealer (easy), find someone in the workshop who knows what they are talking about (harder), and find out for certain which model it is.
The Motor Insurers' Database (MID) cannot be relied upon.
My previous Focus, which I bought brand new, was a three-door car on the MID for the eight years I had it.
It had five doors, I know it did, I paid for each one.0 -
Hi, thanks for your replies. I've checked on askmid but it's just showing that it's insured for the right car, Honda Civic, but not saying what the model is. And i've checked on some insurance sites, and when i put the reg in it's coming up with a Civic E, but 2002-2004 year, when the car is a late 2005 model (55). I'll have to nip into my local Honda garage and let them get to the bottom of it. Thanks0
