Men reduce debts by shaving under arms?

Haggle, as a newbie I had intended to lurk and remain under the radar for a while yet but I just have to answer your post as it made me laugh (in a good way) ... no it is not sexy, I don't even think I would say it was clean, to me the smell of a freshly showered man with nice smelling deodorant on is sexy and clean (doesn't have to be expensive) so please don't skimp on the deo0

Sexy, sexy, sexy, (does that count as 3 now?). Body hair is such a turn off. Go for it - what have you got to lose, if you don't like it, the darned stuff always grows back!0

Wow, this made me choke on my coffee!
As a lady, I would find it bizzare. A bit like finding out my boyfriend wore makeup or shaved his legs. I really dont think it would make any difference to your BO, either.
Lots of people here reccomend a Pitrock (check out the OS board), apparently it lasts years, costs only a few quid and is natural. Havent used it myself.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

I need some feedback from the women.
Is it sexy, strange or just clean?
Hi Haggle
I am a woman and my partner has cut and then shaved his underarm hair... for the same reasons you give: ie, 'it gets very smelly, I don't like it'.
Now, I am happy with it either way, but as a woman, I can tell you i do appreciate the thought and consideration. I thought it was very sweet my man was concerned about the smell. And yes, it does save tons on deodorant. I find it sexy, becasue it is soft and smooth and kissable (sorry...)
Another thing we both do (and i can vouch for this, it works) it to use soap in the shower for the underarms, instead of shower gel. i am not particualrly sweaty, but I have noticed I am less prone to smell (sorry if this is TMI, but I thought I would share it in case somepne has that problem).
I would say, if you feel like it, go ahead- who cares what people think, as long as you fell good with yourslef- women will give you brownie points if you smell cleaner, in my opinion0 -
Shaving to save on deodorant is just strange!! TRIM the hair instead - thus no stubble :T and to save cash - buy a cheaper deodorant. But dont go without unless you want to be known as the "smelly one" :eek:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I dont really pay too much attention as to the length/condition of my man's underarm fuzz but I'd prefer hairy clean smelling to bald & stinky any day.
Why don't you just trim it a bit to thin it out, wash more regularly and use ANTI-PERSPIRANT NOT DEODERANT. Deoderant just hides the smell or disguises it (so you end up using more). Anti-perspirant stops or reduces the sweat. Roll ons may work better than sprays as they stick a bit better to the skin (the baldy arm pits may be an advantage here).
There's a stick one called "Mitchum" which I used on my wedding day (they make a mens' one) guaranteed to last 24hours, I got married in July 2006 on the hottest day of the year and was absolutely melting in my traditional meringue of a wedding dress but the lady in the dress shop recommended this brand and I must admit I left no damp patches or smells on my lovely dress and I was dancing in it until 3am. My feet however were another story......
You could just down-grade deoderant i.e. shops own makes, or bargain/bulk buy from places like savers, poundland or home bargains to buy your regular brand cheaper.
The old fashioned moneysaving board may have some alternative things you can use to make yours last a bit longer or natural alternatives such as cornflower or baking soda (dont try these i'm just guessing at products, I dont know if either of these work).0 -

Some men who sweat a lot tend to "break through" the antiperspirant so if you sweat a lot, you should wear deodorant and not antiperspirant. The roll ons and gel deodorants seem to last a lot longer than the sprays.
You mentioned Mitchum, which I use myself. This is a little more expensive but is the best antiperspirant I've found.MFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000 -
I dont understand how shaving means you'd need less deorderant, but i'd go with the opinion of others who say just to use a cheaper brand rather than none at all. You really dont want to be known as smelly!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000
