Just bought a new Acer and on start up, I noted loads of additional software that are not strictly speaking essential.
The probelm is that I dont necessarily know what most of these programs do and whether I will ever need them.
What is the best way to optimise the performance of the laptop, while keeping the software in case I will need to use this at a later stage?

spybot search and destroy is a reasonable spyware checker and allows you to stop start up programs
You might need to keep the audio software on, cause some laptop audio control software need to be on in start up to get any sound out of the soundcard.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
You can download Acer's own software from their website, so I'd make sure it's there and keep copies of the installers...just in case...before uninstalling it.0
