u PVC Sashwindow advice please.

Hi
Finally made up mind to replace our existing wooden sashes with double glazed uPVC. Have looked into various options available.

There are expensive Wood grain foil bygone collection PVC made by masterframe, which are only installed through their approved installers. These are good quality and about 1000 GBP each. They also have a vintage collection and looking at specs, I could not figure out how the latter differs from bygone collection?

Other option is to go for cheaper ones...quickslide pops to mind. These are considerably cheaper at about 300-400 mark and the also do wood grain finish. I have no idea about the quality of cheaper ones and whether the difference in quality (if any) would be worth spending extra 600 pounds for each window...I have about 15.

Any suggestions please..

hi, bygone windows are only sold through installers they know, trust and approve (they also guarantee the workmanship of their installers) the also offer longer guarantees, more detailed georgian bars and have prettier furniture, cam catches, knobs etc

The vintage product looks similar (until they are side by side). These can be bought direct or via any trade installer, but they only guarantee the windows not the installation.

Buying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run.
