MS Word is part of the Office suite. Wordpad comes with XP and is sort of an upgrade to notepad. Wordpad is usually in
Start-Programs-Accessories-Wordpad
Wordpad cannot save text files as .doc (which is the word format)0 -
No they're not the same.
MS Word is Microsofts main word processing package, It comes as part Of Microsoft Office and I think sometimes with Microsoft Works. A lot of computers come with at least Works thrown in but it's not actually part of XP
If you need to open a Word document up you could try Open Office which can open up a lot of Word docs
You can get Word viewer for free (can't create or edit docs) or a time-limted trial of Office from the MS website, but otherwise you have to pay.0 -

Word isn't the same as wordpad. You have to buy it (sometimes it comes pre-installed, but you usually pay a bit extra for that).
Wordpad is part of Windows and is a basic word-processor.0 -
Works Suite has Word as part of the package. Version 6 has Word 2002:

Yes, it's the 9th one down, double click on it and see if it opens. If you expand the location bit it will probably be in Start Menu or desktop. Have you checked the Start menu -> All Programs for Microsoft Office 2003?0

You know you can drag the shortcuts to your start menu or desktop if required.
