can anyone confirm what the procedure is for taking out a bt line now and bee recently discharged from br..
i know whilie i was br they were asking for a certain amount up front but anyone know how it works for now.. i don't wanna call them as they run a credit check on you and really don't wanna start getting credit checks run on my left right and centre already..

Unfortunately if you want a BT line you will be credit checked there's no way around it. If your home was previously connected to BT they should be able to reconnect it for free otherwise it's £125 with ongoing line rental for your BT option http://www.bt.com/Choices/index.jsp
As you were br before they may want a £50 long term deposit normally 12 months which you will get back if you pay on time throughtout the 12 months, you also get 3.5% interest too. Another option is what they call BT Pay & Call which works like PAYG but I'd avoid this plan as it very restrictive ie 12 month term, no broadband allowed etc.
If you don't want to call them you can still apply online at http://www.bt.com or email them directly to residential.services@bt.com either way you'll still be credit checked.
