Credit card phone payment taken but not put on account

As a postscript, in spite of a letter of apology and £20 compensation from the credit card companyon 7th Mach 2011, my card was declined yesterday.
When I phoned the credit card company for an explanation, they said it was because of the ongoing investigation into the missing payment. I aways pay my card off in full each month, so there are no other issues.
I will write to the financial ombudsman and copy them in on the letter as this has been going on since last year.0
