Good spot, but...
Thermometer giveaway
In an effort to help Britain's elderly stay warm and safe this winter, GMTV, in association with the British Gas/Help the Aged Partnership is giving away 100,000 thermometers.
They work using a heat sensitive strip to alert people on whether they need to turn their heating up or down. 21 celsius, 70 degrees fahrenheit is official considered the ideal temperature.
To get one call the free HEAT HOTLINE on 0800 0 55 36 78.
so I wont be claiming one, these are meant for the elderly to control the heat in their homes over the winter.
I would ask/suggest that unless you are claiming for a pensioner you leave this alone."If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"0 -
Marvo434, very well said, considering eight OAP's died per hour last winter, because of the cold weather, please, please, please only apply for this if you know of an OAP who will benefit from it. :money:

I agree but as not many pensioners will see this on the web it's up to us to order on their behalf. I've ordered one for my Grandma.0

Angel Eyes, I understand, I have just ordered two, one for my parents and one for my neighbour who I look out for. I just didn't want this to be another thing that get's abused. I hope you understand what I mean.0

Eight OAP's per hour??!! In the U.K. alone??!!
Stuff like this really p*sses me off... Developing countries like Russia and Venezuela give subsidised fuel to the people who need it most, whether you like their governments or not. Here, in one of the richest countries on the planet, Tony Blair thinks the money would be better spent blowing up civilians on the other side of the world.

Luckily, my parents have their family living close to them, what about the people who don't have anyone?? We are supposed to be the fourth richest
country in the world, this is a disgrace.:mad:0 -
The elderly suffer the cold and this is a really good thing for them so if you have elderly people you can order for then do it!
