Plastering After Electrical Re-wiring

Will anyone tell me a rough guide of what it will cost for having a 3 bed semi patched up (plastered) after an complete re-wiring in the Leeds area (West Yorkshire). Also how long should the plastering or patch up take and will the re-wiring job be messy.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Should take 2 men one day or one man 2 days.

there a bit of a nightmare for plasterers especially if the house is occupied,as everythng in everyroom will require sheeting up.

Ive done loads over the years, very diffcult to estimate as often the sparks have bashed away and disturbed the surrounding plaster, and not just the chasings.
Just depends on size of property and amount of double sockets per room etc,age of house etc.but a guide could be around the £350 mark including materials.

Rewiring does tend to be messy - messier if you have concrete floors and cables have to be chased down from above for sockets. Clear as much stuff as you can, seal what you can into bags etc, and tape up cupboards. You will find plaster dust in strange places for months afterwards however well they sheet things as it gets in the air and floats.

That said if they aren't chasing down from above, its not beyond a reasonable DIY'er to patch up the plaster provided you are willing to have a few attempts to get your hand in, and buy a half decent float trowel to do it with. Even with long chasings its not that hard if they haven't completely wrecked the surrounding wall, so it might be worth seeing how it turns out and deciding whether or not you need to get someone in.

It never ceases to amaze me how many sparkys get away with not doing plasterwork repair work when they've mullered large holes in it to run their cables.

    Cheers

I wired a lot of houses in my time and it would never have occurred to me, not to fill in the cable chases as part of the job.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Ours filled them - the problem was it looked like they'd used either a spade or a hairbrush to put it on with!
