Stolen & recovered - now problems

My car was stolen and recovered last october andI have been having loss of coolant over the last few months. The car is booked in for a pressure test but we are fearing the worst of head gasket failure. Insurance company have never agreed to provide a copy of the engineers report from when the car was recovered. If it is the head gasket then this is a remarkable coincedence - does anyone know if a. I can legally get a copy of this report (through RFI) b. whether it will show anything that could link or c. whether I have any rights now or its just tough from the insurance companys perspective?

What age was the car and what value was the settlement, assuming you had a payback?

That needs to be weighed against your "issues"

Other than that as a layman, I don't think you have a claim.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

no there was no payback - they recovered her 2 days later and repaired her (just some light body damage). Its 2005 and an MG so yes they are renowned for HG failure but I just think its too much of a coincedence as everything was running perfectly with her beforehand

Cars all run perfectly right up to the moment the HG fails.

Regardless of what you think there is no chance whatsoever that you will prove that any damage was consequential on the theft.

Unless the radiator was damaged when it was stolen, so it was run without coolant, I can't see that you've got a chance.

Stands back and waits for the Rover HGF brigade to arrive!!!!!!!! :D

Cant really see anyway of proving the damage was caused by the theft.

Even if the theft hadn't happened (assuming it had any affect at all) you'd still be looking at a HG failure in the near future.
