Hi there,

I had a leak in my bathrom over the weekend and after investigation it was the fan extractor pipe from the bathroom to the roof that was leaking. Asked for a roofing person to have a quick look from outside and he said the top and the bottom bit flash needs replacement and it would cost £45 (parts) + £45 (labour) to fix it.

Is this quote reasonable?

Thnx

cant speak about the parts costs, but the labour rate is very reasonable.
my mate had 3 patches done last week. flat roof. 45 quid labour only.

You'll be lucky to get it cheaper. I'd be inclined to go with it.

I think I'd bite his hand off TBH. Flashing means flashing - it doesn't mean mastic.

    Cheers

  • the roofer came in this morning and apparently there were 2 tiles that were cracked - he replaced these 2 tiles and also soldered on of the boiler pipes. according to him the flashing was okay (so no changing). he charged £75 for half an hour's work and replacing 2 tiles. Not sure if the prices was okay?
