I'm looking at very basic cars and my StreetKa is far higher spec and fun to drive but it is in effect a money pit. I would be happier with a bog standard 1 litre car that does 63 mpg costs £0 in tax and is warranty.under
As much as I love driving a little 2 seater drop top in the summer I'm fed up with the running costs of it and want something cheap, simple and reliable.
If you are getting 25mpg from a Ford Ka, imagine what you will get from a decent car, (sorry but the Ka is and was intended to be basic???)
Then buy a diesel Clio or similar, go shake y'er asss;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0

Its not really basic, its a StreetKa cabriolet with heated leather seats, aircon, etc, quite different to the usual Ka. Its got the 1.6 engine as opposed to the 1.3 and is not economical at all. It would make a massive difference to my finances to get something that does 63 mpg.0

Sorry should have said small car, and often a slightly larger engine in a small car is the best recipe for economy.
If I were you I'd check the manfacturers figures for fuel economy for what you have now and what you propose to buy. Use the % difference to obtain a figure of what you can expect from the new car under the same driving conditions.
As in, I doubt very much that Ford give 25 mpg as an overall fuel con figure? ;) I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button. ;) I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Not trolling, just giving sound advice.
You seem to be getting paranoid.
You do have the option to " ignore " my posts if they bother you.0

I'm switching from a rep battle tank Laguna 2.0 petrol to a Kia Picanto 1.0 :rotfl:
Difference in running costs will absorb the finance and the PCP deal I've been offered is outstanding.0
