Angry Birds Secret Level Unlock

during the super bowl last night are the famous super bowl adverts, of which one was for the new film 'Rio'.
contained in that advert was a secret message to unlock a special hidden preview of the new Angry Birds Rio game due to be released in a couple of weeks.

to find the code just watch the advert here, and look out for the code.
or carry on reading if you want the full low down/can't find it.

the secret code is at 28 seconds, and says 13-12 with a picture of the red bird looking puzzled at a golden egg,
deciphering this translates to, if you play level 13-12 (Ham 'em High) in the game and unlock the golden egg, this new level is unlocked.

if you manage to complete the secret level you are able to register for a competition to win a trip to Rio to se the premier of Rio, although I am not sure if the competition is US only or not. (in fact I hope the whole secret level is not US only)

don't have angry birds but still want to see what this new level entails? click here

Aren't you just doing their marketing for them?

It's a viral marketing campaign to sell a product (or several products). The "secret" is "accidentally" released into forums, and you're doing exactly what they want.

I should add that I don't care whether you do so or not - neither game nor film interest me anyway.

I only posted it because tons of people in the UK play angry birds so they may be interested, as they are pretty obsessive about getting all 3 stars/golden eggs, finding hidden stuff, otherwise they may not find out about it as it was shown US only)

I'm not susceptible to buying stuff from viral marketing campaingns anyway, plus if you have the right phone angry birds is free anyway.

but here is a video of how to get the gold egg anyway (for the people who want to find the level :P) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJrnh5wyAYs

I didn't even know the Ham 'em High group was available....

Ah well I've updated it now and will work my way through the new levels so the heads up was handy for me anyway.
  • In the olden days of the Game Gear hand~held I used to pay £50 per month every month for a new game for two of my grandkids. £50pm was a very great deal of money in those days to waste on a game. The two kids concerned were using cheats to access levels so they could brag about finishing in a week This meant that my investment in providing a months entertainment / enjoyment was reduced by 75%, and the value of £50 was correspondingly reduced to £12:50.

As gentle caring lectures were having no effect I did not buy their monthly game for two consecutive months. My baby sitting duties with two bored kids were intolerable for those 8 weeks, but it solved the problem of using walkthrough [ finding the gold egg in this example ] ;) because they reverted to not using cheats / walkthrough

I had one of those. If I remember it took 6 AA batteries and used to eat through them in about an hour! :)

Aye the colour ones were greedy, I eventually bought a second console to stop them fighting over whose turn it was. In addition I bought two PowerBack's I think they were called, they only lasted less than three hours but were rechargeable, and importantly rechargeable in use and in the car.

It worked out cheaper than Duracell's
