Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.

To cover what? wouldn't a contents policy with accidental damage cover it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Kids have been jumping on them and I think they have broken a spring which seems to be dangerously close to coming through the leather.

If that's the case are you not too late in taking out insurance? The shop that sold us our suite offered it at the time of sale. Other wise if you have accidental damage on your home contents policy you may be covered there like DD has said above.0 -
I know this is an old thread but is there an answer to this? As I would also like to know, as I am being pressured by my wife for a new leather suite, and after doing some research a policy from the store would be in the region of £240, which while it gives good protection it just seems to be a tad expensive. I haven’t had a look at my house insurance yet so don’t know if that would cover it. Anyone got any thoughts.?0

i got mine for about £120 with reids 5 years ago and have never used it. a waste of money if you have house insurance.0

So long as you have AD cover it would be covered. However normal wear and tear would not be covered (ie the kid jumping on it could be attributable to wear and tear by the insurer).0

yes I tend to agree but insurance is aways a waste of money unless you have to use it. My in-laws did have a few problems with there`s and claimed on the insurance a few times and in fact got a replacement because they could not sort it.0
