Viewing i-player on a TV - SOLVED

Before I buy a TV/large PC monitor I was wondering can modern TV's take an output from a computer without any converting PCI slot card?
i.e. are there any TVs which have a DVI-i input? Then all you need is a very long cable. Failing this I suppose the next best is a PCI slot card to convert to HDMI?
Keeping it computer based, what are the largest lcd/TFT monitors that you can get?
This for a different house (where there is currently no TV and only a small monitor) if you know that I have asked a similar thing before...

The largest pc monitors ive seen are 50" dell monitors. You could always use a DVI-HDMI cable for a tv or with alot of recent Samsung/Panasonic and some unbranded tvs they have monitor output already on them.0

dvi and hdmi slots are the same standard they just have different connectors you can get adaptors on ebay0

If you are getting a new TV then look for an internet enabled one. Most of them come with i player as standard (along with 5 on demand and others). You just need to connect them to your network.
You could use a dvi - hdmi lead but be aware that some graphic cards do not pass sound through the hdmi connection so you may also need to connect a 3.5mm cable to carry the sound. Even with the extra cable, some cards still suppress the sound and need a workaround.0
