  • Last year I found myself having to contact tco on quite a few occasions to report changes in our household circumstances.

I wrote to them on more than one occasion to inform them . I found that the change took a little extra time to be implemented (only maybe a week or so more).

I would advise that if you DO write you keep a copy of the letter and maybe consider sending it recorded delivery.

I would still use postal method to report any chances that i need to as you are correct when you say the helpline can be difficult to get through to at times.

  • By the way....early morning seems to be the best time to get through . People say if you try to ring during the school run time (8.30am or so) when a lot of parents are taking the kids to school you may have more chance of getting through.

I agree that ringing early morning is usually easiest time to get through. The good thing about notifying them of a change in writing is that there is less room for error (on tc part). Very occassionally I have phoned them and the person at the other end seemed distracted and not concentrating. To the degree that I called back to check what had been updated.

Keep a copy of the letter and send it recorded.
