I'm >this< close to finally buying a mac :j
What I am wondering is, does a new one come with word processor, spreadsheet etc? On the website they mention Snow Leopard and all it's components and iLife but no mention of these things.

Snowleopard is just the version of the Mac OSX operating system that the Mac runs on (equivalent to MS Windows).
As standard Macs don't come with a copy of iWork (equivalent to MS Office) installed and would set you back about £70 if bought with the Mac. You can also consider buying a copy of MS Office for Mac 2010 but unsure of what thats retailing for.
A new Mac will come with a copy of the iLife suite pre-installed, this includes iPhoto, iMovie, and Garageband for managing all your photos, making movies and music.0 -
Why not try OpenOffice for Mac?

Great info, thank you very much.0

+1 for OpenOffice for the Mac. There is a Mac version of Microsoft Office should you decide to feel like parting with money.0

+1 for open office, can open virtually anything and save in numerous formats that will create a smaller file than the .doc equivalent from M$
Mac's are great and you won't regret converting. There might be a few minutes of going "Arrrgggghhh why can't I do this (like using tab button)" but you'll soon find you can enable all these features.:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0
