scottish power
Hi everyone,
I would like to get your avice as I am in scottish power for a while. As we know suppliers increased their prices for gas and energy so now I have been thinking of moving to someone else.
I am wondering how would be the most efficient to do this.
Shall I call them first and give my resignation or should I switch to another provider.I would like to avoid cancellation fee.
Thanks to everyone for responding

When you say you would like to avoid cancellation fee that will depend on the contract you are currently on - do you know if there is a penalty if you leave before a certain date?
Make sure you know your annual usage accurately and check comparison sites for current deals from other providers.
Useful thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2976258 about moving from a Scottish Power deal that is soon to end.0 -
You don't contact SP if you switch. You sign up with your new provider, they contact the old, the old contacts you.
You only pay an ETC if you are still in your minimum term contract.
It will then take 5-6 weeks to complete the switch. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
