Sweetie Help needed!

For my Mum's birthday, I want to make her a retro sweet box from her childhood. I have researched the retro sweet sites, but I was wondering if anyone could help with specific sweets that they might remember from the era.
I am looking for any popular sweets from the late 50s and early 60s, I would really appreciate if anyone could help out with some names (particularly sweets that were available in Ireland at this time)
Thanks folks x

Well, there were :
the old fashioned boiled sweets - pineapple chunks, acid drops, rhubarb & custard and (my favourites) lemon sherbets.
Chews - fuit salads, blackjacks.
Sweet cigarettes and sweet tobacco (we were so innont in those days ).
Gob stoppers.
Spangles
A Fry's chocolate bar that had 5 sections all joined together but with a different colour filling in each IYKWIM
flying saucers
sherbet fountains
shrimps (pink foam things)0 -
Aniseed balls, Tom Thumb drops (tiny boiled sweets that stuck to the paper bag, but tasted even better with a bit of paper and some fluff from your pocket:rotfl:), sherbet dipdabs, liquorish root, pear drops, Frys 5 boys chocolate bar, honeycomb chunks, coconut mushrooms, Paynes Poppets, chewy nuts, Jawbreaker bubble gum, liquorish comforts, mint imperials, bulls eyes, Pontefract cakes.
I'm sure I'll think of more later0 -
Littlekitty, I'm actually in UK now, but Mum is still in Ireland.
EricsMum & LV Sue - Frys chocolate bar!! You are a genius, I know she used to eat these. Plus this reminded me of the Walnut Whip (think beacause the wrappers are similar colours)
Thanks guys - keep the fab ideas coming x0 -
Im sure floral gums and cherry lips were around then. (although floral gums always tasted bogging!)

Lemon bonbons, those little packs of fizzy sweets that look a bit like refreshers but are smaller, refreshers them selves, smarties - the lids of the tubes used to have a letter on the reverse side and we used to collect them to see if we could make out names.0
