Even though you have no "offers" at the moment, are you sure you can't do a BT at all? (Even at standard rates..)0

No mate nothing I want to get rid of my flybe card which carries a balance,so thought right BT flybe on to my barclaycard and everytime I phone up they come out with the same thing, sorry but you don't have no offers, then I say sorry but i've got 1.5k available to me and your not letting me use it.0 -
If you can spot a term and condition in their issue of cards rules that say you have the absolute right to spend your limit in any way you want then, then throw that at them - if not accept what they are saying or move on to another lender.0

Weird. My BC has been pretty well maxed out for a year now because I seem to have a constant 6.9% LOB offer on the account which I've used as other deals expire. The limit is £10K. They just sent me a letter saying they are raising it to £12K. It does seem they have money to lend right now.
It does seem strange that they give you a limit suggesting they think you're good for that amount of credit, but then won't let you use it for a BT.
I think you'll just have to look elsewhere.0 -
Does seem a bit weird, but perhaps thats just the way it is?0

Why is it every credit card i've ever had let me do balance transfers, but barclaycard won't let me, as I have no offers at the moment they said, and someone please tell me why I have to wait for their stupid offer just to make a £500 BT..
Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I have a limit on one BC of 8,400 and could not bt. When I queried this I was told then my Equifax score was along way from Barclays internal credit score for me. The internal one was excellent but because I had alot of searches in a short period of time it brought my score down.
However that said I am literally bombarded with bt offers from them now.
Despite of what many posters say Barclaycard DO get a regular score on us from the credit reference agencies.0 -

That might be the reason then searches on my Equifax, as over xmas applied for car finance.0 -
If they searched me, I doubt they'd like what they see!0

Don't get wound up about it . . . it's their 'risk' to manage as they see fit . . . just vote with your feet and open an account with someone else that will allow you to BT and close your BC account.
If it's purely that BarclayCard's marketing model isn't qualifying you for a BT right now, you'll have no problem opening elsewhere.

This happened to me last year. I have almost 12K limit and wanted to do a transfer on their 6.9% lifetime deal. When I called them they said there were no balance transfers available to me whatsoever. Can I suggest you persevere and call up again. I made several phone calls and generally made a nuisance of myself
and in the end they said yes. 0
