Cheapest way to post an ebay item to the us

Hi

Could anybody give me an ideas on the cheapest way to ship an ebay item (platter plate ) no more than 2kg packaged in weight ive looked on parcel 2 go and parcel monkey and they are looking at nearly £50.

Does anybody send stuff regular to US? and if so which is the cheapest method please.

Many Thanks

Cheapest way for less than 2kg (within allowable dimensions) would probably be Royal Mail. You are insured for £41 with a certificate of posting. Just send via normal Airmail Small Packets. Nothing with RM will track to the US, so you will lose a Paypal claim if one is opened, but you will get your money back with your cop.

If the item is more than £41 in value, you may add an enhanced service such as International Signed For, which will allow for more compensation, but you then may be better off using a courier.

I use transglobal express couriers for all my US packages.

As per chancesare suggests if you can get this below 2kg then RM if not you'll need a courier.

Be aware that there are terrible delays sending there, with parcels taking up to 1 months or going lost, because of new security measures.

There are some useful posts on the ebay forum, with links etc. that advise on what couriers are doing better. RM is definitely one of the worst.

There's also the very bad weather over there at the moment which will add even more delay.
