NS&I index linked 5 year bond

Hi

I have £15000 invested in a 5 year index linked savings certificate with NS and I that has just matured. I want to know if it is a good idea to leave this to continue on for a further term of 5 years.
I notice that you can no longer purchase these and that they are only available for current bond holders.
Advice needed please. Thanks

,,,it is a good idea to leave in for another five years (it would be available to withdraw at any time) as it would be one of the few saving products which protects against inflation....

I agree with ed123, if you renew, the money is available to you at any time without penalty (unlike the first term). You cannot get savings today that, after tax, beat inflation, so why withdraw?

Out of interest, what terms have you been offered for your renewal?

I've just had mine and it's a continuation of same terms ie 3 or 5 year index linked to RPI +1% pa net or the current fixed rate offers.
