It's usually nowt more than was a small baby, now look how I'm grown up... what babies can't do that we can type deal - usually backed up with stuff like the role play corner being turned into a baby clinic and stuff, maybe with birthdays linked in as well. Maybe some data-handling stuff like how many children have brown/blue eyes etc - depends on the school (and teachers' ingenuity) how much they can link into a topic - by heck I've seen some tenuous links worthy of a medal over the years.

Strategically "forget" the photos if you want stalling time (I generally anticipated a week for such things to drift in anyway - you can bet 80% of the class won't have stuff in on a Monday morning that's been asked for on a Friday evening), and go in and have a word with the teacher - will give you more actual info than some randoms on the internet will. However it's a pretty standard foundation stage topic - nothing much can be done to avoid that.

Thank you very much for that. I will do just that and go and speak to her as soon as I can. As I said though I totally understand the need for the topic to be covered-I just have to protect my child by ensuring it's handled extremely carefully.

    Thanks once again.

hello, i have covered this topic with my class lots of times, we usually look at baby photos and try and guess who they are and then compare to older photos. We talk about things we used to do when we were babies, what we could do as toddlers etc..

I tend to avoid any references to parents family likeness etc as many of my class are from single parent families, raised by grandparents or raised by step parents.

I would def try to pop in to see the teacher in the morning if you are worried. If you can't do this then send a note asking the teacher to ring you up asap and then hopefully they can put your mind at ease. hth
