marble hearth crack..repair?

hi
i have quick Q about my marble fireplace which has a large crack across it.
is there any way i can repair it or make it less visible witout spending a fortune?

Sorry, once it's gone it's gone, there are one or two specialists that may be able to disguise it but they are likely to charge more than the cost of a new fireplace.0

I have seen a reclamation programme on television where they repaired a period marble fire surround in 12 pieces and it looked perfect afterwards. They were using a type of resin and a lot of skill so not sure this is a DIY job. If this is a period fire surround it may well be worth getting some quotes to have it repaired."I hear and I forget. nah, it's not period, I don't even like it that much, but the crack bothers me and I wondered if there was some kind of filler available.
oh well...
