No holidays don't bother me, i'm always thinking.
i should be at home, this needs doing or i must finish that.

thats exactly it you never stop working unless you get away from home so a good reason to go.

  • Why not book a villa holiday. He can mope about indoors and pretend he is at home:rotfl:
Seriously- I actually find the opposite to what you OH says- a fortnight's holiday lasts longer than a fortnight at home. We mainly 2 a holiday of two parts- we go to one place to sightsee and then a nearby beach resort to relax. This is like having 2 holidays.
I can understand if someone doesn't like travelling but the excuse seems to be that it goes too quickly. If that is the case- is he a bit depressed??? Does he hate his work?
I think he has had his way for a few years now so its his time to compromise. Think of a break which has something for him as well as you. Tell him you want him to give this holiday a go and if at the end he really doesn't want to go again then you won't ask again- you will just go on your own.

  • For me getting away is good to get a change of scenery 2 weeks i find to long but 7 - 10 is enough for me then i start to get itchy and feel as though i want to get home,Its a big world out there and we live on only a small dot of it i also find some of the costs in the uk of holidays a little bit extra would take you away abroad like when i spent £500 in 4 days at Blackpool with just me and my daughter lol.

But yes it is not for everyone some people are racing pigeons don't like to be far from home but if you want to go you should and each other should respect each others wishes who knows maybe one day will shock you and come along.

  • I don't think it is fair to expect him to go on holiday if he doesn't want to. If you did drag him along and it is something that he really doesn't want to do it isn't going to make it a great holiday for you either.

However, it is not fair to expect you to stay at home. I would do as others have suggested and go away on your own or with friends. We normally holiday together, but we have been away seperately too. I have always wanted to walk Hadrian's Wall, but my husband could not imagine anything more hell like than this. So I booked with a group and a few years ago I walked the wall and it was great. I am planning to do the Coast to Coast at some point and again I will be going with a group.
