Myhouseprice.com, Zoopla etc

An odd query: I bought my house in March 2008, yet it doesn't appear on any of the websites that show house purchases. I have checked loads. All the other properties around are shown, as is my last sale in 2007. Does anyone know why this might be, or indeed if I should be worried?! It was awful at completion as it got repossessed an hour before ( I didn't buy it as a repossession) and it took the solicitors a couple of tense hours to sort it out. Could that be significant? Thx!

A few houses in my area are missing off all the usual sites like nethouseprices etc and they always seem to be the ones I would like to know the value of, next door which sold 3-4 months ago for instance it was a straightforward sale aswell.

I was intruiged to know how much my friend paid for her london flat, even as just a ball-park number but her whole building (dozens of flats) is missing off those websites. AFAIK, there was nothing unusual in her purchase so don't know why it would be excluded but I guess that means yours isn't the only one.
  • I used to work for one of the sites mentioned...

Sometimes there can be data issues in the source information. Part of my role was to resolve these data issues. This is a semi-manual task, and as such not all the sites do this.

This could be the reason for your house not showing on the sites. But I could not say for certain. As you say it may be due to the repossesion.

My daughter sold her house in 2008 but it's never appeared on ANY sold house price listing.

Some houses may now be excluded, I think. For example, my current house doesn't appear because it is agricultural and has a fair amount of land. Were it to be included, the price would skew the data for other houses nearby.

Edit: Auction and repo sales are not included in the Land Registry data that sites like these can buy.
