took me a few minutes to work it out, but hopefully you mean Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity, yeah? :o
  • Yes please :)
  • SANDS is an amazing charity. In about 1991 I went through a massive breakdown and it was the SANDS helpline that kept me going, and basically kept me alive during this period.

I would quite often ring several times a day but would hang up the phone on the all the time if I didn't get through to the one person I was ever able to talk. If i hung up whilst talking to this volunteer he would always phone back although sometimes I just couldn't speak or answer.

I only found out recently that the phone line was run by volunteers who had gone through the trauma themselves so even now wish I had known that as one of their volunteers Patrick basically kept me going through a very suicidal traumatic time for me. I still wish I could thank him for what he did and I always donate to this charity for their wonderful help.
  • Ms P thank you for sharing :)

Patrick and his team do an amazing job.
