    Whilst technically it may be possible, in my experience claiming without the supporting medical evidence at time of claim often proves to cause greater issues. It often results in a rejection letter based on lack of supporting medical evidence and delay in trying to rectify. It is far more sensible to get the sick/fit note first.

    Not really, there is no rejection letter for not supplying medical evidence, aside from that which I referenced above.

    I have clients who have been rejected for this very reason. Can only go from what information has been passed to me.
