Advice on selling something..

Hi,
Recently I bought a bargain, purely for the purpose of selling it again, I have a couple of options
1. Sell it with no Guarentee, besidedes that fact that it works
2. Sell it with the Receipt that I got when I bought it, but that way the person that buys my item will know how much I paid.
Not sure I can sell on ebay, if I am selling to make profit?
The item that I am thinking of selling is in brandnew condition, but no box, is worth £240 in the shops, I was thinking £150, but with my receipt (far less than £150), or without?

If you're buying to sell for a profit, that makes you a business, so you'd need to pay tax...
Why not just put a reserve on it for what you paid for it, then see what it goes for? (and don't forget to use a courier or send special delivery)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
From a buyer's perspective the presence/absence of a guarantee depends on what you are selling and how cheap it is.
If it is a set of Viners stainless steel cutlery then I wouldn't mind that the 25 year guarantee is missing as I'd never take them back anyway.
If it is an LCD tv then I'd probably not buy without a guarantee because of the risk of it breaking down....0 -
It all depends on what it is. A pair of shoes that sell for £240 the shops are unlikely to sell for £150, unboxed and worn (if only for a second), apply that to most clothing.Hi,

A mobile phone may or may not sell at that price depending on several things.
If a fault develops and you sell it as working then the come back is to you the seller, not who you bought it from.
Another thing to ponder is why you managed to buy it so cheap, could others have got the same deal? How much have similar items sold for recently?
Whatever the item, if it is unboxed and has no guarantee, it is considered as used, 'nearly new', 'as new', etc, all imply second hand..0 -
Thanks, will have a lok at selling it locally, have just seen how much a courier would be..scarry amount of money.

Loads of advice, most of which you didn't ask for. The way to sell an item which is guaranteed, is to offer the guarantee yourself. You keep the receipt, then if the item breaks down, it's returned to you and you sort it. I did this with a load of PS3 units I had, knowing that the manufacturer warranty would increase the price.0

I think it's @ 13kg, I looked on ParcelFource, it is a bit big, say 6ft x2ftx2ft.
