Withabix is right its not a Rip Off, you booked a late deal you need tickets there isnt time to deliver them to the shop you need to pick them up from the airport.....Unqoute

    stepb34,

It is NOT the travellers fault that tickets need to be issued, it is the provider who has the problem, if indeed there is a problem.

Rather is it in the providers finanancial interest to ensure ticket delivery or risk aircraft seats and hotel rooms being unsold. So yes the late booking charge (and TCook itemised the charge) is a rip off.

I wonder why TCook cannot, like Easy jet, allow customers or agents the facility to print their own documentation?

Thomas Cook stores can email you your invoice, you can check in online but they still issue flight tickets. E-Tickets are brilliant but customers still like a 'ticket'. Focus groups that Thomas Cook have done all come back with 'we like tickets' 'its part of the holiday experience'

to OP...Late Booking Fees were the old Ticket on Departure Fee. have been there for at least 10 years.
