Xbox Power Lead Recall

Do you own an Xbox or know someone that does? You'd better check out https://www.xbox.com They are recalling 14.1 MILLION leads.

Microsoft today asked Xbox owners around the world to return their consoles' power cables in a bid to prevent them suffering singed body parts.

The recall takes in some 14.1m power cables shipped into Europe before 13 January, 2004 and in other territories before 23 October, 2003. The Xbox debuted in the US in November 2001, and to date more than 20m of the consoles have shipped. The recall covers over 70 per cent of that installed base.

There is a possibility of them getting hot and burning yourself or your furniture.

Yeah thanks, I also have a replacement cable being sent out.I had noticed it getting a bit warm but thought nothing of it as doesn't get used that often.

Can't believe they had to ship 14m units before they noticed there was a problem.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

http://replacements.webprogram.com/en-gb/faqs.asp#Q-1 has more details from Microsoft on this. You do not have to return your cable, they just send out a free replacement. They advise not to leave the Xbox powered on unattended while you are waiting for it to arrive.
