Strange "advised" payments to HSBC IB accounts

I've got an hsbc bank account and their isa account - and I noticed on internet banking that I got 2 payments to the accounts yesterday labelled as "ADVISED" - one for £23.97 and the other for £26.03 - i.e. £50 in total - but I have no idea what they are.

I've sent a message to the online banking link but not had a response yet.

Am I in receipt of some previously deducted feeds or miscalculated interest or something like that ? Maybe I need to go through my "junk" mail pile and see if theres something in there from them about the payments.

Keep a very close eye on the account, if the bank do not respond to your message very soon then make a phone call. You can never be too careful in such instances.

I bank with HSBC, & I think ADVISED is charges that youve been notified of previously. If you are unsure give customer services a call?

But these are payments TO ME - not from me - i.e. I'm up £50.

Possibly there's something in the post to you that hasn't arrived yet, if nothing surfaces in the next couple of days it's probably a good idea to give them a ring and ensure it's not a mistake.

Other than that, I haven't a clue. Best call customer services or go into your branch and ask them. In this sort of instance I would always talk to someone face to face or over the phone, rather than send an email and wait.

I agree with Decluttering, there will probably be a letter on it's way on to you. Could be you were on the wrong interest rate perhaps? Do you have an advance account and a fixed rate Isa? Could be you are on standard rate instead of preferential rates. HTH
