in Techie Stuff
Yesterday I put my pc on, windows xp & a blue page came up saying windows wants to check disc, this has never happend before. it said file system NTFS, then CHKDSK is veryfying files & indexes, it went through all this techie stuff, which i did'nt understand, i only just know basic how to use pc, then it said returning to windows which then went back to normal, i'm a bit worried thinking has someone hacked in to my pc, or is this normal,
Thanks, any help would put be appreciated & put my mind at rest

I wouldn't worry , read the first couple of paras - http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/chkdsk.htm0

Confirming what spakkker says. Chkdisk checks the structure of the disc, it is not a virus scanner.0

It usually means you didn't shut down properly, or you had a slight hard disk corruption.
Backup, in case it was the latter.
