hi this is my first post (first of many I hope). Need help.
I have been informed that I may have to attend a county court for a hearing involving a child (rta xident - 18 months ago). I dont want to go!
can I instruct my solicitor to go on my behalf or can I plead guilty by post?
Any legal eagles out there?

I presume this is a hearing to establish whether a compensation payment is to be made? You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -

if a figure has been agreed, I don't understand why you'd need to attend court? Sounds like a straightforward out-of-court settlement? You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky

The insurance company will almost certainly send their solicitor to deal with it on your behalf (but you should check).
They will want to make sure that the wording of the settlement doesn't leave them open to further claims in the future.
I can see no reason for you to attend! You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
