No, you can buy a Weekly season ticket on any day of the week and it's valid for the 7 calendar days including that day. Due to a day off I bought mine on Tuesdays for a few weeks.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Thanks Tigsteroonie
Seems I can save about £4 by buying a weekly season ticket - I thought season tickets were only for longer periods so didn't look at that part of the website before
It mentions requiring a passport photo for the accompanying photocard - I'll need to buy it on a weekday morning though so hopefully the queues won't be too long - is there a form that I can download and fill in before hand to try and speed up the procedure?0 -
If you let us know what Train Company your travelling with, I'm sure somebody on the forum will point you in the correct direction of the application form or if you don't know the Train Company then just post your start and finish station.
Most Train Companies have their own application form this is First Great Western's.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
It is Arriva Trains Wales - all I have found so far is that you can buy a season ticket online (but only a renewal not a first time) and this website only allows more than a month anyway: http://www.arriva.trainsfares.co.uk/season/requirements/st_qtt.asp
So I guess they don't have a form for taking to the station or for weekly tickets - but if someone knows of one I would like to know0 -
one question that has come to mind is that: http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/seasonticket/calculator doesn't mention the word 'return' or a return journey
I'm just assuming it takes account of the fact that you need to make a return journey aswell in order to travel from the same place again the next morning and gives you the price for going and returning on all those days?0 -
You assume correct a season ticket is unlimited travel between two points, ie A to B or B to A or in fact A to B including any intermediate stations, whether you start/stop or continue your journey from those intermediate stations.
Also sorry, but couldn't find the application form for ATW's season tickets.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
You are allowed unlimited travel on the permitted routes between the named stations. There is no form to complete, at most you will have to write your name.
As you don't have a photocard yet, you will need buy from a staffed ticket office.0 -
You were right - there was no form
he just wrote my name and stuck my picture on a card!0 -
Thank you for getting back to us with closure, nice to see that Arriva keep things simple.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0

Just to make it clear, you should also be allowed to travel short on a season ticket - I have a monthly season ticket with ATW and have done so plenty of times without a problem - unless it says otherwise on the ticket. So if you get on a stop late and/or off a stop early, it's not a problem, however usually you will have to be let through any ticket barriers.
