Asda christmas savings card

Has anyone else had this problem?

I was intending to load up my Christmas savings card with £144 before 20th November (bonus day) & then spend it all by end Dec to get the £6 bonus (as per Martin's article).

however, the customer services wonam in my local store said I couldn't do this & I would have had to have started saving in January to get the bonus.
Now I can't see anything on the t&c's that states this & if this is so there must be loads of people who started saving since January who will now not get the bonus!

Perhaps next year I need to get a card, put £1 on it in Jan & then load up the rest in December?

Thanks, I just did phone Head Office customer services, & the CS person I spoke to said it was absolute rubbish - she even offered to phone the store there & then while I was on the line! She said that she & a lot of her colleagues at Asda HO go in to a store on the day before bonus day & put £144 on the card!

She also said that you don't lose your money if you don't spend it before the 31st Dec.

So if like my local store, your's get funny about it, you can refer them straight to their customer services. 0845 300 1111 (8am – 10pm, 7 days).

Asda customer services (in store) are c**p. I did my weekly shop as usual a few months back and when i got home looked at my receipt and it had
"min £1.48" couldnt work out what it was so i left it.Next week came, done my shop ,got home, "min £1.48" came up again.so i checked through what id bought and realised it was for mineloes (oranges) i knew the price of them was meant to be 99p as it said on the wrapper thing on the both bags so looked for the last weeks reciept, found it, and took both the reciept and wrapper things in as proof id been overcharged.
Went to the customer services desk and was told i would not be given the difference back from either packs as id gone out of the store!! and anyway if id known id been overcharged the week earlier why didnt i come back then??!!!! so i explained i hadnt realised but was told i still wouldnt be getting the difference back.
I asked to speak to a manager.I was told i couldnt as they were all in a "meeting". suprise suprise hey!!!

Hope you are not going to leave it there as Asda have committed an offence. Either ring head office or contact trading standards.

had previously written to asda about something else.had no reply.cant be bothered with the hastle to be honest.i think staff in some shops look down on some people.im 20 and have a 2year old son and im convinced they see me as a stereotypical single mother.my mum says its all in my mind but im not so sure.im allways fighting for what im entitled to and never get anywhere.im scared to take things back to shops for a refund because i think theyll think ive stollen it even though ive got the receipt!!! maybee im just paranoid!!
The attitude of some staff in shops are awfull but then again you can get really nice pleasant ones.

Does it matter if they see you as a stereotypical sinbgle mum? I mean really? :) These are perfect strangers working in a shop where you spend money, they mean nothing to you :)
I love presenting confusing images and being in appropriate... I used to drive a 1968 Series IIa Landrover (if you know know landrovers then think OLD and noisy and muddy!) and I have driven it to very posh weddings and jumped out of it wearing high heels and silk dresses... On the other hand I have turned up looking like a total bum in some pretty nice cars too ;) (like my ex's Lotus 7 ;) ) and most people must have thought I'd nicked it! People most of the time see me and think I'm probably a farm worker or something other than what I am which is the Supervisor/ Assistant manager or a technical support team with a lot of experience as a hardware engineer and working with security applications :)
They can assume what ever they want as far as I am concerned - because they don't matter a hoot to me :)

Anyway I ramble (when do i not!?!) - so what if you have a 2yr old son at the age of 20? That doesn't give you any less right to get exactly the same as me or anyone else :) If they look down their noses then pity them because they can't see a person, they only see a sterotype :) How dull their lives must be :)
