    If you do buy an outfit please bear in mind that frilly dresses may look cute but they rarely get to wear them and they're murder to wash and iron. My babe has a wardrobe full of dresses that she wore once and grew out of.

    Stretchy pants, dungarees and tops are a new mothers best friend, especially if they are tumble dryerable. Also don't forget to buy socks.... baby socks are magical.... they disappear in the first wash ;)

    Vouchers for George at Asda, Next and Gap are all good but they're a bit impersonal.

    A picture frame is a lovely gift. I got a friend a flower fairy one with crystals on from Past Times and she was thrilled with it.
