Selling on Gumtree - any success

Thanks to everyone for their input.
It seems most people are of the opinion that it is a waste of time.
I will perserve a little longer, and relist my ad to keep it fresh and see what happens.

Since Im selling motorcycle gear which is bulky and heavy I wanted to sell locally rather than have to deal with postage.

Does anyone have any suggestions for selling locally in London?
I tried Loot once, with no response.

Don't bikers have a dedicated paper like auto trader they all look at as well? Maybe lower the price or reconsider your wording.

dotchas

I have had great sucess selling bits of furniture on Gumtree. Coffee table,office chair,drawers and an exercise bike. Offering local delivery seems to help.
